It took a while to figure it out, but, I won!
Turns out, you have to remove all of the Epson scanning software, reboot, and then just use Windows scan. It's free from Windows.And it's easy to use.

(4,044 posts)WFS only handles basics, but that is often good enough.
I've had many problems with Epson printers and scanners over the years. With the scanners, it was always bad drivers from Epson, and their refusal to update them.
I solved the problem by buying Canon equipment. No more problems. Just good prints and scans.

(5,528 posts)I recently bought a new laptop (W10) and I was using Opera to re-install my printer and scanner. Kept getting errors. Switched to Edge and no problems. Could be Edge had the most hooks into W10 than the other browsers.
