I am a finance guy working 80 hours a week in a highrise

My fiance went back to her home town to care for her ailing father. There she met a guy who runs an organic bakery and is raising his four year old son on his own. Apparently he is teaching my fiance how to bake bread and the true meaning of Christmas.

Should I be concerned?

Delete the record of his payments and foreclose on the bakery.

Then rub your hands together and say, "Muahahahahahahahhaa."

How is your moustache twirling game?

The bakery dude is a psycho who is really her older brother that was put up for adoption.

The OP will get there just before he tries to smother her to death with a gluten free muffin.

How often do you talk with her? Hope it's at least once a day. If she mentions him in a conversation, I would ask her in a humorous way, "OK sweetie, honey (whatever your pet name is for her) is this someone I should be worried about stealing you away from me?.

But I would also suggest you take a few days off and go spend some time with her. She's in a stressful situation taking care of her Dad. I'm sure a visit from you would brighten her day and show you care.

Also, try cutting back on your 10 hour days.

Just my thoughts.

If you come home and find there is a bun in the oven.

You probably do have a problem.

You are investing 80 hours a week in your work, how many hours are you investing in your relationship? You just have to decide whether she is more important you you than money. People either grow together or they grow apart.

My wife was from a small town in the flatlands of the northwest. She always felt stifled by boyfriends who wanted her close by all the time. Sort of pre-control freaks. Not fully blown, but jealous types who couldn't bear for her to have a girls' night out without crashing the party. That's what got my predecessor booted out. As I couldn't believe my luck that she even gave me a second glance ("wow, an American, how exotic!" ), I was perfectly willing to give her whatever space she wanted, and we are still together 47 years later. She sang, "Don't fence me in," and I sang back, "Never my love," and we bridged a 3000 mile gap of water, and a cultural gap in language and tradition. People can grow separately without losing the bond. They just have to both want it.
