I've got to tell someone and no one here really knows who I am, so "tag" DU is it.

I am the proud grandfather of the cutest, smartest two and a half year old in the history of humankind. I've just learned he is to be the big brother - of twins!

As of yet, I am forbidden to tell anyone, so keep it on the down-low.

7. At first I was thinking we might be related! LOL

My cousin just told me yesterday that he and his wife are expecting twins! They are keeping it secret too! But their son is 4, so not likely.

PM me if you fudged the age as a diversion! LOL

I never had children of my own, but 30 years ago met my wife who had two grown children. Fast forward to the present and I have just welcomed my fifth great grandchild to this earth. Just spent last weekend on a camping trip with two of them and other family. Four generations at the campsite.

24. It is fun.

Last week was the fourth birthday of one of the great grandkids and my 68th. Hers is the 28th, mine the 29th. My birthday will forever be over-shadowed by hers, which is okay with me.

We had three large travel trailers and my wife and I had a cabin near them at a private resort at a nearby lake.

22. Seems to run in your family.

I had 2nd cousins who were identical twins. I never learned to tell them apart. The only twins in a very large extended family

I once worked with a woman who was a triplet. She said her mother had also given birth to two sets of twins before, understandably, getting a tubal ligation.

It is close enough to terribly spoil but not so close that I would have to deal with the clean-up. Closer would be better.

34. Oh, oh, oh! Lucky you!

It's clear my one son will never reproduce, and so I'm a bit jealous. But only a tiny bit.

I've often had trouble telling fraternal twins apart, although it helps if one is a boy and the other a girl. Identical twins, forget it! It's probably a very good thing I didn't have twins myself, because I'd still be asking, "So which one are you now?"

of twin boys, 5 years old. They are so smart I can't keep up with them but their two year old bro (who weighed one pound at birth) thinks he's just as big and smart. They sure can take your mind off covids especially when they tell you about T-Rex who lived 68 million years ago, was 40 feet long and weighed in at 14 metric tons. You will be tired but never tired of them.

sister was 2 1/2 at the time. Having twins can humble you if you think you shoild be in the running for gods gift to parenting. But raising the three of themwas a wonderful experience. I think they survived it for the most part.

52. OMG! I'm the oldest of 3

I thought I was the only one to endure the torture. Identical twin sisters 4 years younger than me. I went from the cutest, smartest to non existent after they were born. Friends and family would come over and after 15 minutes of "they're so cute" crap somebody might walk by me, pinch my cheek, smile no words, then turn and say "ahh, Moe and Curly your so cute", more cute crap. That's the dogs names! I was forgotten about. Holiday pictures went from me front and center to the back row where all you could see was a cowlick of my hair sticking up that blended in with the Xmas tree. I had become an undecorated branch! I ran away from home when I was 10. The twins left the gate open and Moe and Curly got out. That's when everyone realized I was gone! "Hey, where's what's his name?" It was 2 days! I would get grounded for saying things to them like "which one are you?" or I'd tell my mom they switched names again. I'm scarred to this day! I was an illegal immigrant in my own family! I don't think relatives and friends of the family even knew I flew the nest until I got out of college!

Disclaimer: I'm joking on most of that lol. I love my sisters, they deserved all the attention they got and have grown to become amazing individuals, wonderful mothers and we are all the best of friends besides siblings. We always call ourselves the 3 twins lol. We all speak to each other across the many miles at least once a week. I was always big bubby, and am still very protective of them and luckily they are very protective of me. Trust me thats an advantage. Growing up with identical twin siblings can kinda be like living in a Marvel comic at times lol. I just had to share because it really is a rare, and awesome experience and your post brought up some great memories. Congratulations TomSlick (btw my favorite childhood CARtoon). That young man, and yourself, are in for some adventure. Wishing good health to all of you

I'll confess I don't really understand why people feel the need to keep something like that a secret. If I'd found out I was carrying twins when I was pregnant with my daughter (long ago, in a galaxy far away), I'd have screamed it from the rooftops. But of course, you have to abide by the wishes of the proud prospective parents; that's a given. So I'm very happy you can share it here. 😁

58. I've befriended twins

Paternal, so they are distinctly different. But like so many twins, in many ways they are inseparable in an emotional way. I get along great with them because (they are boys) I'm one of the few adults in their life that isn't a relative and we've established that they can treat me as a "friend"*. I tease them regularly that of course, being twins, they had to divide their intelligence in half (it so not true it's funny. One is the best participant on their debate team.) It becomes a "challenge" regularly for us to "test" each others "intelligence". They beat me more than I want to admit, and they find no small amount of joy in that. But as a child of 7 siblings, it is fascinating to me to see their interaction.

*Yes, they know I'm a friend of their parents so yes there is a certain limit to our teasing of each other. And I will say they are very polite young men. I was embarrassed once in a restaurant when I noticed they were vastly more "respectful" to our waitress than their father or I were. Not that we were disrespectful or something, but they used vastly more "may we please...", "could I possibly have..." kind of language than their father and I who might just say "can we have...", or "... and bring me a...".
