All of a sudden, I need two screens to work

I'm finding more and more reasons that one screen isn't doing it - cutting and pasting from spreadsheet to report, keeping a WebEx open while I input information on the other, etc etc.

When did this start?

Like one screen isn't already ruining my eyesight....

If you've got the ports, it's actually dirt simple to set them up. HopeHoops Jul 2012 #1

The only thing that's hard to get used to is the mouse pointer totally disappearing when it moves into the 2nd monitor's real estate. I don't always keep the 2nd one on so it just "goes away".

Another thing to watch out for is if your main monitor is a HDMI (likely with new machines) and you hook up a VGA secondary. During the initial boot sequence, only the secondary will be active and if it's turned off, it seems like the video universe has gone bye-bye.

Worked okay, but I'm going to bookmark your advice in case something happens when i replace this laptop.

I hate losing my curso - especially in the middle of an interview (I interview people for a living, and enter what they say onto a form or a spreadsheet)
