The staff don't wear masks, the 4 servers there...all kids in their 20's...not a ONE was vaccinated. The management could care less, as he was also non-masked. Excellent food, we used to go almost every Sunday, but I cannot at age 70 get the covid from some stupid little shit that thinks they're invincible. The sad part...our new server today, I asked if she was vaccinated. Of course not, so I asked why not, and sh said she had 2 babies at home. Still scratching my head over that one.ANYWAY...I'll be home this winter, cabin fever be damned.

(4,148 posts)and this week, I am making THAT trip to Costco. Stocking up on the papers, pet supplies, and groceries and am getting ready to settle in as much as possible and binge watch/quarantine for the winter.
I don't want to get the virus, but I don't want to give it either.
Plenty of old movies and DVDs here, grateful for a full freezer, and the dogs are always a barrel of fun, so plenty of entertainment. Never cared much for other humans anyway, so I'll be OK.

(4,175 posts)And the one local restaurant is filthy. So, worth the 28 mile one way trip for a real good meal. But, alas, not anymore. And yeah, the wife gave them an honest YELP review too.

(4,089 posts)Actually, we really didn't really get started back up,,,,
We are late sixties and early seventies old,,,, and have altered our lifestyles since the pandemic started,,,,
Really, really do not want to get sick and have been pleasantly surprised that we avoided the flu as well as COVID last year,,,,
We know lots of folks in our area that are just acting like it's over,,,, but it's not. We've gotten grief from 'friends' that we are being overly cautious. and maybe we are. don't care what they think.

(8,208 posts)I don't see myself eating out again until spring. Even when the staff and owner are masked and vaxxed, the other customers have to remove their masks to eat and everyone is talking.
But yes, that place sounds extraordinarily dangerous. We have a restaurant owner here--a rare Republican in this very blue city--who had antimask signs on his restaurant door. He caught covid several months ago and he still hasn't recovered enough to reopen.
On the plus side, Mr. Femmedem and I both cook well and we are eating as well, if not better, than when we went out more frequently.
I'm glad you're choosing to stay safe after this outing. Good, good good choice.

(39,343 posts)And I get weather days. I work on a boat here in the river each day. I will be lucky enough to have Monday and Tuesday off for a Nor'easter.
But I work alone and aside from grocery stores will not be going anywhere else.

(153,226 posts)me, I have no problem doing what is necessary during a pandemic...I just wish people would just do the right thing

(23,785 posts)Of course that may have caused a disturbance and sometimes it's better to say nothing. But what a ridiculous excuse.
