If it is just to play as the character.

I'd play Caligula.

If it is to BE the character.

I'd be Superman.

since it would be typecasting to put me in the role...

My initial thought was Billy Bob Thornton in that movie where he has sex with Halle Berry... but, I think his character was kind of a racist, if I recall.

I'd probably say the Tobey Maguire role in the first Spider-Man movie (haven't seen the new one yet)

Or, Han Solo in the Star Wars trilogy.

"Why Pinto?"
"Why not?"

"Over???? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!!!"

"See if you can guess what I am now!"

"There were blanks in that gun!"

I'd be terrible at them, but those characters all sing, live exciting lives, and are the kind of people that I am not. I would LOVE to play them, if only for a night. And sing some of those glorious, famous songs! I would be able to die happy.

Or maybe even Velma in "Chicago." A bad woman to the core. But she's vivacious and sings and dances, too!

A close second would be Jimmy Conway

Maybe Edward The Longshanks as a close third

What can I say...I love to root for the villains in the movies.
