(25,932 posts)Assuming the existence of an afterlife, that is. I cannot fathom that those who have moved on lamenting not making it to an arbitrary milestone. Were saddened and disappointed, but I expect Betty White is not fretting over it.

(23,656 posts)As neither of us knows for sure if there is an afterlife who can say what she may or may not be fretting over. I don't believe I implied she was. Also reaching one's 100th birthday is not an "arbitrary" milestone. It is a factual point in time in the life of a person who lives that long.

(25,932 posts)I dont believe that Betty White is upset over missing her 100th birthday by a couple of weeks. A lifetime of achievements shot to hell due to missing a milestone by a matter of days? Please.

(23,656 posts)I never said Betty White was fretting or upset at dying before she reached her 100th birthday on January 17th. I, and many of her fans, are very sad at her passing AND disappointed she did not live to celebrate her 100th birthday which she was looking forward to.

(4,473 posts)He was annoyed when he realized that he wouldn't make it to 100, since he was looking forward to a congratulatory telegram from King Edward VII. It is still the custom for the King or Queen to send congratulations to people on their 100th birthday.
