I remember one year, 69-70, at the Fillmore East, I saw Country Joe and the Fish, Pearls before Swine, The Electric Flag, The Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, and then at a festival in France, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Winter, Coliseum, and Mungo Jerry.

In 1967, I played with one of the first progressive rock bands in the Washington DC area. We got to open for Junior Wells, Canned Heat (original line-up) and the Youngbloods ("Jesse," Jerry, Joe and Banana). We just missed opening for Jimi Hendrix and the Hollies (RATS!!!!).

We thought those days would go on forever. Dumb, stupid, kids, but MAN did we have fun!
