South Korean school lunch meal - In America at least $30

1. That's a beautiful meal!

Clearly Koreans value food as fuel for their children.

2. I doubt most kids would eat that regardless how beautiful it is.

3. My kid would house that in no time. He's always been a good eater.

However…we could do something similar in this country with “Americans food” that would be as balanced and nutritious…if we cared enough.

4. I like everything there except...

...the pickled radish (danmooji). I think it would be unusual to eat the jjajamyun and noodles (lower right actually ramen noodles in this case) and the other starches, rice and bread, on the buffet platter at the same sitting. One usually eats jjajamyun as the main course perhaps just with a smaller quantity, two or three vegatable panchan, like the kimchi, and squash shown. I guess at a buffet one could pile it on like this. The quantity as shown is "over" as they say. namoo mannasaw.
