They have made it to 49/61 before COVID. Talk about a road trip. I originally heard about this couple on NPR.

My dad passed on 12/23/2019, grandma (aged 104) on 1/14/2020. It was a bad couple of weeks.

(759 posts)My grandma was 104, but she is not the grandma Joy in the article. Grandma Joy is in her 90s in when she started her road trip.

Grandma in video, still pretty remarkable to undertake such an adventure at 90. Hope I have half that energy if I make it to 90.

(759 posts)She was active and healthy up to the last year, and the sweetest person I have ever met. She had a full life.
Wasnt long after she passed that COVID kicked in. I did ok working from home for a year, but became more and more burned out. Im down to working about 4 hours per week.
