Lots of people will tell you to start with a word with lots of vowels, but that strategy didn't work on today's wordle.

Been trying for about the last few puzzles after reading a tip here. I think the developer may be on to this trick.

I solved it in five, but it took awhile to arrange the letters.

Isn’t this puzzle created by a Brit? If so, I’m always keeping an open mind about relatively obscure words being possibilities. I do a lot of crosswords on the Guardian site, where solving can be a challenge.

Lots of shires in Britain; over here, we refer to them as "counties."
