I let my 3 year old granddaughter (I watch her during the day) answer the landline.

I never answer my phone unless I know who it is. If it's important they will leave me a message. I never answered my phone when I had a landline.

So what if they lie?
You're just going to hang up on them anyway.
Even better if you say 'sorry, not interested'.

With one asshole who's been calling years asking for the lady of the house-

He was told twice to stop calling. He's still doing it.

When I answer with hello, and he/they start up. I'm going to start talking gibberish, like Latka on Taxi. Just pretend I don't speak English. Words like BACA! and inishkinar. I'll keep repeating nonsense. Then I'm going to place the phone by the TV and leave it.

I'm done being nice.
