Who's that dude in the mirror?

Well, I done did it. I cut off all my hair. It's surreal. I have this minds eye image of myself after having long hair for 20+ years and then I look in the mirror and freak myself out.

Working from home and Covid....It's been staying in a ponytail and it was just so fried. Broken/split ends. Figured it was time to start over from scratch. Went military short. It's been a surprise. Damn it's cold! Fortunately it'll grow back!

It will be so much less hassle wearing hat! I cut off 37" last year at this time and 1/3 of it is back already! Trying to decide if I want it all back now.

It’s amazing how different a person looks in different hairstyles.

I can’t imagine you in military short! Do you like it? I remember when my head was totally bald from chemo treatments, it was unbelievable how COLD my head was, and that was in the summer! I’ve always had at least shoulder length hair my whole life. Well good for ya. I’m sure it’s a lot easier to take care of!

I mean, she loved me, but she tolerated the hair.

I kept the beard, though and never looked back. The love of that woman has made me a better man.

Hair will always grow back...well, until it doesn't.

Or was it when the old man down the road recommended Ivory soap for shampoo?

... I couldn't take the long hair any longer. I got out the electric razor I used to use on my son's hair when he was younger, attached the "longest" comb and rubbed that thing all over my gourd until it was all one length. It felt so much better but my wife said I looked ridiculous. within 6 weeks, it needed a trim!

Thankfully, our haircutter is vaxed and follows safe practices so we were able to get her to repair the damage. You're right, Glamrock. It'll grow back. Meanwhile, I suggest a cap against the cold. (Just not a MAGA one, ha ha!)

Wish I'd done it sooner.

So easy to take care of, no worries about "bedhead" or "hathead". I don't even carry a comb anymore.

I look at Trump with his elaborate combover and shudder that I used to be "that guy" with bald spots and long hair.

I get cold too whenever I shave my beard off.

I have not been to a stylist for 2 years now. I just take a trimmer, put a 5/8 inch guard on it, and go over my whole head with it. Then my wife does the neckline, and I'm good to go.

I also cut her hair! I style it! I wish I had her hair. It's the thickest and prettiest hair that I've ever seen on a woman. I bought some barber tools, and watched a bunch of YouTube videos on how to cut women's hair. I never cut in a straight line with the scissors (for example, her neck line, bangs, along the side of her face)). I'll hold the scissors almost vertically and cut the ends on different angles so it looks more natural. To thin, I take about a 3 inch wide bunch of hair, pull it up, snip it in 3 places with the thinning shears, then comb it out. Just have to be careful not to thin too close to the scalp.

Anyway, I'm rambling. You should post a before and after pic, Glam!
