The snow depth predictions were all over the place, anywhere from 3 to 8+ inches. All of the schools canceled, today.
They are still calling for 3 to 6" but Weather Underground says maybe 1". We are JUST now getting some flurries.
Oh well. Nothing to do but wait and see. The snow blower is gassed up and Sunday is going to be sunny and in the 40's.

(26,295 posts)A lot of the storm drains are still ice clogged. I went out with an axe and cleared one of mine. I'm at the lowest point in the development so the last thing I want is a huge ice pond at the end of my driveway.
They are saying the precip will end by midnight so if it wants to inconvenience us, it had better get busy!

(26,295 posts)It was much easy going when I went out to give them their afternoon feed. I avoided the remaining ice by cutting through a flower bed. And I wore my wellies instead of snow boots.
My cousin told me to take the ashes from the fireplace and toss them on the ice. It gives you traction.
I'm just going to keep hoping for an early Spring.

(32,091 posts)I wandered onto a pool of lumpy ice. I was thinking i might have to crawl the 6 feet or so on my hands and knees to get off of it. I managed to find some secure footing after a couple minutes. The absolute last thing I need to do is fall!
Weve been getting rain off and on all day and the flood warnings are numerous all over NE Ohio.

(86,804 posts)Mimics what we have a day or two ahead of you. We are having wind right now, 35+mph sustained for over a minute... you can't really call them gusts when they are that long can you?
We may have had an inch of snow since Monday, it was in the 50s all weekend, got into the teens last night, but it's above freezing now and likely to repeat last week all over again.
