When is Free Bird day on DU this year?

Isn't it usually in April?

I don't know if it's called "Free Bird Day" officially, but it's when everyone replies to every post in GD by typing "PLAY FREE BIRD, GOD DAMNIT"!

Did I miss it this year?

They were coming to Denver again in the summer of '77, but my friend Al and I had planned a road trip in his Camaro to Chicago and Detroit, and I let him talk me into leaving a few days before the show.

"Okay, I'll catch them next time", I said.

a live version though. Either the Live at the Fox version or the Knebworth Festival with the Stones.

Play Freebird, Man!

There, how'd I do?

the Knebworth Festival was probably one of the, if not the, best live performance. Hey, when you get to the peak and Al Collins is doing his fretwork there's no bad version.

I wasn't a big fan of Skynyrd, but the peak of Freebird is a force unto itself. They took on a new intensity when Artemis Pyle replaced Bob Burns on drums as well.
