I saw a girl who was noticeably pregnant. My guess is she was 11 or 12.

Yesterday, standing on line for ice cream, I saw a girl who was not overweight, not having a fat belly. She was pregnant. The contours of her front said pregnant.

I tried not to stare, but a lot of side-glancing.

OMG. And this isn't Texas, Kentucky, Mississippi, etc. It's New Jersey.

A girl!

a girl 13 was having difficulties with her labor in the room next door to my wife's. This was in Illinois.

I've never been at a doctor's office and had the doctor ask us all to line up for ice cream as a diagnostic test, though.

My wife was such a person. She looked 18 well into her late 20's and used to be asked for ID when ordering alcohol at restaurants until she was 30.

(She used to complain about it; I told her the time would come when she'd miss it; that time is now.)

I was in fact older than her, but looked old for my age. I did get dirty looks, particularly when we went to hotels before we were married, before she had a ring on her finger.

My wife was in her early 30's when she first became a mother, but definitely looked younger.

I don't know this particular case, but I would be careful to not make assumptions based solely on looks.

I knew she was a virgin. It ended up being an ovarian tumor almost the size of a basketball. You never know.

I was the only natural child (I have an adopted sister) but my parents could only have one kid. Like most others of that era, they wanted 2 or 3.
The root of it may have been a slow growing tumor. My mom had to have a full hysterectomy when I was 14, so my mom was 36.
She had a bulge in the lower abdomen because that tumor (benign) had gotten so big.
Not the size of your friend's, but bigger than a cantaloupe.
I can easily envision what you described.
