And, owners - 'messing' with your 'companion' to this level (uncontrolled fury?) - not the greatest idea you ever had?

through the woods behind our house. I was wondering whether the cat thought of himself as a lion about to take down a wildebeest.

Same as the other response - I've seen my 10 pound cat chase a deer. And another of our cats attacked a pit bull.

That cat was nearly twenty pounds and long hair, so he looked much larger. One day our new neighbor came over to introduce himself and he brought his pit bull with him. We warned him to watch out for his dog, since we knew how that cat was. The neighbor laughed and said if his dog hurt our cat, he was a vet and would treat him for free. Both my husband I smiled, since we knew what was coming. The cat was sitting on our front stoop next to us.

Next thing we knew, the dog came up and sniffed the cat. The cat jumped on the dog's head. He had a grip on the dog's ears with his front claws, was trying to bite down to the dog's spine, and attempting to kick the dog's eyes out with his back claws. The dog was screaming but couldn't get rid of the cat. It took my husband three tries to get to cat off the dog and he had deep scratches from the cat getting loose and jumping back on the dog.

By the time he got the cat back into the house with the door closed, the dog was bleeding profusely from bites and scratches all over his head. I don't know what damage the dog actually got. The new neighbor bundled him into his truck and rushed him off to his clinic for treatment. We never saw that dog again - the neighbor made sure he never came back on our farm.

Don't fuck with our cats - they will get revenge!

had a Halloween mask on, was on my hands and knees and peeked slowly around a wall corner at him - spectacular effect, he flew at me with claws out, one claw buried into my scalp and it took a while to stop the bleeding - nope, I never pranked him again
