I really enjoyed the original Avatar, but its more than a decade old and the world of media and movies has shifted away from 3D once more. I was actually surprised to see that the recent Doctor Strange was even released in 3D and my kids (millenials) all HATE it and prefer to see films in 2D when given the choice.

Add in the conservative backlash to anything that even remotely supports or hints at a need for environmental stewardship and I'm thinking it would take a miracle for this film to make 1/3rd of its predecessor...but, then again, I did not think the original was going to be any good until I actually saw it in a theater, so may I once again be far afield for this one!

Cost to make Avatar 2 250 million. If it grosses half as much as the first one it’s still a ton of money.
