Was such a sad day and a reminder of learning to cherish our times together. We only had him 16 months, was a senior dog with special needs, and still find myself in tears when I think about him.
Someday I'm sure we'll adopt again, but definitely feels too soon.
Love each other and remember to pause in the present moments.

(4,218 posts)Our fur babies take a piece if our hearts with them. Sounds as if you gave him a loving 16 months.

(623 posts)He was underweight and just looked sad when we first saw him, then as he spent more time in his new home his personality started to show again and got to a healthy weight.
I'm comforted by the fact he was finally home with the family he was meant to be with, just took 12 years to find us at last.

(10,053 posts)How lucky he was that he got to be with you in his life, it takes special folks to take in a senior dog with special needs. Sending you extra hugs
