The Ukrainian military recently forced the enemy out the Nova Odesa district of Mykolaiv Oblast. There, Ukrainian soldiers found a shepherd dog that had been abandoned by the National Guard of Russia. The dog was named Max.

The Ukrainian National Guardsmen noticed the camouflage collar of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the inscription “5.45 ‘Defender,’” which was worn on the dog. They found out that the Russian company “K9” manufactures these for special dogs units.

After that, a Ukrainian National Guard dog handler worked with Max. According to him, the Belgian Shepherd dog is about three years old and is in excellent physical shape. The dog was trained by the Russians.

Within a month, the dog has learned commands in Ukrainian and will be able to communicate freely with the Ukraine’s mine-detecting hero dog, Patron, the Ukrainian military jokingly noted.

And I did wonder about the language difference. My mother's friend adopted her beloved dog from a Japanese couple who were divorcing (friends of her son) and it took the pup awhile to learn English commands.
