So I have tested NEGATIVE for Covid. I do, however, have symptoms like coughing and

bringing up phlegm and feeling hot, having head sweats. I thought I had it for sure. But I keep checking the little red bar on the monitor and no second bar appears. I know sometimes tests can be wrong so I am continuing to mask. I may have developed spring allergies, but I don't know.

I will test for 7 more days as the pharmacist gave me 8 kits.

There is not much else to tell you, but this is great news for me and hubby (who will get his own test kid and test altho he is not experiencing symptoms.)

I will call my primary care doc with the news and seek his advice going forward.

Katherine Poehling, an infectious disease specialist and member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, told NBC News in January that a cough, congestion, runny nose and fatigue appear to be prominent symptoms with the omicron variant

4. Yeah, my cough and congestion was what worried me. I wake feeling good, however, but get run

down by the pm. I am 82, so I'm pretty healthy despite being old.

I want to say here that I started building my body up with moderate exercise 4 times a week. I went to a jazzercise class 3 times a week and swimming at my college pool once a week (for free when I was getting my Master's Degree at the time).

One thing: I do not drink alcohol, with very few exceptions, any more. But I love the taste of Merlot and F.R.E. makes an alcohol free Merlot. It's wonderful and is my "wine o'clock' cocktail drink.

I’ve tried a couple of the F.R.E wines, but they were too sweet for me. But if you’re also a beer-enjoyer, be sure to try the “Athletic” brand. It’s the first N.A. beer that really does replace “real” beer for me! I like several of their varieties. I still drink alcohol on occasion, and it’s not like I was drinking a LOT, but the N.A beers have made it so easy to reduce my consumption!

Here’s an N.A to better health!

10. I love their Merlot but I can understand your reluctance. It is a matter of "taste."

I was getting sick, literally, when I drank the real Merlot. I loved the way it made me feel. Until it didn't and I had gastro-intestinal issues. That'll do it!

If you test negative and are feeling good other than the congestion, I would think it might be allergies.

14. I just got over a terrible cold/cough that lasted almost a month. I tested negative for Covid 3x and

went to the doctor twice. I was also negative for pneumonia and bronchitis as well, but it was really wearing me out because of the non stop cough and deep lung congestion.

I finally got one of those saline sinus irrigation bottles w/ the salt packs (you have to use sterilized water (I just boiled water in a teapot and let it cool) but that finally managed to do the trick. I think it was one of those things that was aggravated by allergies, although I didn't have my usual allergy symptoms which are itchy, runny, watery eyes. I'm not sure what it was, but that pretty much made it all go away!

I hope you feel better soon, but if you don't, and your doctor can't find anything wrong, you might want to give that a try. I had a similar thing about 20 years ago, and did the same thing and it went away like magic back then as well.

3. Home (self) test?
Mon May 16, 2022, 11:55 AM
May 2022

you need a PCR test...home tests are notorious for false negatives...I had Covid twice (re-occurrence)..the rapid tests came back negative ..the PCR was positive...my daughter in Atlanta began having symptoms..home test negative, PCR positive...the night sweats are a giveaway...

This true!

A couple of my friends have had negative home tests only to find they had once receiving a PCR test at a clinic. And that new variant may completely evade the old tests.

7. I posted yesterday my frustration with finding a place that tested. I was exhausted from rage.

The whole reason I self tested was because I couldn't find a place that would do it in my immediate area.
My pharmacy gave me the test kits for home use for free. I now have 7 left and will continue to test. It's not so difficult to do.

11. I am getting over a really bad cold
Mon May 16, 2022, 08:19 PM
May 2022

That gave me cough, fever for days runny nose sneezing etc felt like death for a week.

Had 2 negative tests ended up in urgent care because I was worried about fever for days and wondering if it was infection. Found out I had super bad cold which doctor said a lot are getting from wearing mask for two years and not being exposed to anything it messes up your immune system.

I still have it but going away.

I caught from my daughter who told me when I came to visit she had allergies and negative test.

She felt awful getting me sick for Mother's Day and I was marooned at her place until I was well enough to drive the 7 hrs home.

Hopefully thats all you have, drinking lots of tea with honey in it helped me the most and putting eucalyptus in my diffuser every night and a eucalyptus shower tablet in my shower.

Good luck!!

My little Sunny got it to!

We are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. But I was dreading what the test was going to say. Guess the other viruses want to be big bad too, like the new kid on the block.

16. It is possible that you have the flu
Tue May 17, 2022, 05:35 AM

I felt pretty awful, very congested, and my regular doctor's office wouldn't see me because - Covid. So I ended up in the ER (which I do not recommend, spent half the day waiting there) and of course they tested me for Covid, which of course I did not have, but I was diagnosed with the flu, "Type A" specifically, even though I also got a flu shot besides being vaxxed and boosted. And it's not going away anytime soon - it's lasted for a month, though seasonal allergies don't help. Wishing you a much quicker recovery...
