I coulda put this post under pets, household hints, or maybe even consumer advice. But I wanted to put it where it would do the most good.
Our cloth, wheeled kitchen chairs have a fabric that is the hardest to get dog's hairs off of than any fabric I ever saw. Not sure what it is. And yes, the dog likes to sit on a chair.
But anyway, I thought of cutting strips off of an old roll of Contact shelf paper to see what would happen, and it worked pretty well. Probably would work a lot better if the roll were new - mine is 10 years old...
I think it would work extremely well on suits, coats, hats, car upholstery, furniture, or anything where pet hair is a problem. Try it..

(10,044 posts)I got tired of rubbing the strips of contact over the chair, so I cut a piece about 15" long and sat it. Very relaxing
Then I put it against the back and leaned on it. Also relaxing.
I'm saving my duck tape for the windows for when nuclear missiles or whatever gets dropped on me.....
But thanks for the suggestion....
I'm going to get me a couple rolls of contact and keep'em handy.
Oh, don't use it for your shelfs. It'll take the finish right off the wood.

(47,675 posts)With all of our pets and three daughters who have a lot of black clothing, it comes in REALLY handy here.
As for shelf paper, our rabbit had somehow managed to cover the wall by his cage in urine. One day, while taking a piss, I looked over at his cage. Looked down at the toilet. Looked back at his cage and said, "No way." He'd been standing up to pee out of the cage.
We cleaned it up and put contact paper over that stretch of the wall to make it easy to clean. From then on I began sitting down to pee in that bathroom and he hasn't had a violation since. He uses his potty when we do. He bathes himself when we do. Let's just say he's on the "social" side.

(21,020 posts)I got it, but I have this square sponge thingy that's a little smaller than a brick, dark orange in color and very dense.
You swipe it over the lint and hairs and they come right up.

(70,710 posts)from a fabric/sewing store, where they have scraps for sale, all it takes is somebody's staple gun for a homemade upholstery job.
Think about public waiting rooms, even doctors' offices, with STAINED fabric?!1 No, don't think about it, sorry.
