I just found out I might be really sick (or maybe just a little sick)

I don't feel sick. I've been a bit sluggish, which I attributed to not sleeping well and getting older.

Now, there's stuff in my blood tests that could indicate a serious illness. Also could be less serious. I just don't know. Options range from some kind of infection to cancer or an autoimmune disease.

I went in today for a slew of new tests. Some results were alarming and some weren't. What the fuck am I supposed to do with this information?

The doctor says there's something wrong. But doesn't know what. So I'm waiting. I feel like I'm a character on an episode of House.

if it could be less serious, then, well, it could be less serious.

I'd just wait and see. Don't assume the worst, don't assume anything.

I had a greatly enlarged appendix that they only caught because I was retiring from the Army and they were checking out my bad left hip for disability purposes.

Could have been cancer, could have just been benign.

Turns out, benign. Colonoscopy clean as a whistle, examination of the appendix after they took it out also clean as a whistle.

so all good. Even if it's cancer, tons of treatment options these days.

I always figure; hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and shoot down the middle.
I truly hope you receive good news soon.

Is to stay in the moment.

Refuse to spend a single moment of anxiety until or unless it is warranted.

I had a cardiac event awhile ago and have been on a heart monitor for 30 days. I UPS the monitor back to the co. today, and my dr. gets a report in 4 weeks and I have an appt. in 6. I really don't think I have a serious heart problem, it's never run in my family. Think it was probably a reaction to stress - which was just about unbearable a few weeks ago.

But I hate the not knowing, and feel unsettled a bit. Hope in your case it's nothing really bad or if it is, there is a good fix.

Well, it's not cancer. Phew. They still don't know what it is. But it's not cancer.

My liver might be seriously fucked up. So, they're testing for that. But it's not cancer.
