Have Cheerios gotten smaller?

Haven't bought these in decades until the other day. The shape seems smaller and the center hole wider. Plus, they seem "airier" or "lighter"-- less "bulk" to each O unit than I remember.

It would fit into the shrinking food syndrome. First they shrink the packaging/volume (without changing the price), then they shrink the food.

Anyone else notice this?

Maybe they had to shrink the size of the cereal to fit into the smaller boxes.

I can't understand that when you ask a question. Everyone wants to act stupid with goofy answers never answering the question. The answer is yes. They are smaller as well as the box to compensate for cereal size. I am sure General Mills hopes you the consumer won't notice. This was probably done to pinch every penny they can from an old product to make ends meet with the economy. I think only people who were born pre 70's really notice these small details in life. Those were the days.
