Haven't bought these in decades until the other day. The shape seems smaller and the center hole wider. Plus, they seem "airier" or "lighter"-- less "bulk" to each O unit than I remember.
It would fit into the shrinking food syndrome. First they shrink the packaging/volume (without changing the price), then they shrink the food.
Anyone else notice this?

(30,947 posts)Maybe they had to shrink the size of the cereal to fit into the smaller boxes.

(1 post)I can't understand that when you ask a question. Everyone wants to act stupid with goofy answers never answering the question. The answer is yes. They are smaller as well as the box to compensate for cereal size. I am sure General Mills hopes you the consumer won't notice. This was probably done to pinch every penny they can from an old product to make ends meet with the economy. I think only people who were born pre 70's really notice these small details in life. Those were the days.
