Do Google earth and Mapquest, etc., replace their satellite pictures periodically?

1. Yes, but I don't know how often...

I know if I look at old houses where I've lived, their are obvious changes, like my pickup not being in the driveway any more.

3. Not real often. A couple years ago I looked at the house I owned....

...from 1979 to 1993, the one I owned from 1993-1998 and the one from 1998-2003.

I rearrange the furniture every third or fourth time my wife tells me to do so.

4. I have gotten lost a few times because of Mapquest's directions.

So I do not think they are up to date.

5. Google Earth does.

Short answer is that they try to update within three years, but more often in case of natural disasters, etc...

I used their imagery a lot in New Orleans post Katrina, and they probably changed it twice a year or so.

7. They are woefully out of date

On one view (the aerial view) shows the new addition to the house (built 5 years ago) but the street view shows the house BEFORE the new addition.
