We ain't redneck 'cuz we have all our teeth? (I'm not making this up.) There's a video tape at the link below.
Honey Boo Boo is one of the young contestants from Toddlers and Tiaras. Shame they didn't do one for McKenzie when she was in her prime.
Honey Boo Boo Chiles TLC show premieres tomorrow and it looks outrageous
Six year-old Honey Boo Boo Chile, one of the precocious stars of TLCs Toddlers & Tiaras, has her own spin-off show on TLC. Honey Boo Boos co-star, Eden Wood, got a show on Logo this year called Edens World in which she and her family coached other tots in the competitive, bizarre world of child beauty pageants. So I guess this is the second spin off for a T&T castmember, featuring the one with the most colorful family to put it lightly.
Earlier this year we covered Honey Boo Boo and her mom, June, on Dr. Drew. June admitted that she regularly gives her daughter a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew as part of her pageant prep, calling it Go Go Juice. No we can get a glimpse inside their fascinating family life, and the preview makes the show look as exploitative as a kiddie beauty pageant
snip.
TLC introduced 6-year-old pageant princess Alana in January and she instantly became an internet sensation with her thick accent, go-go juice-imbibing ways, coupon-queen mom, and her signature catch phrase, A dollah makes me hollah, honey boo boo.
Each episode follows Alana, her stay-at-home mom June, chalk-mining dad Sugar Bear, sisters 12-year-old Lauryn, 15-year-old Jessica, and 17-year-old pregnant Anna. From four-wheeling through mud pits to picking up road kill for the family cookout and beauty pageants, viewers see more to the trials and tribulations of a family living in rural Georgia.

(11,916 posts)once in awhile (Craft Wars and What Not to Wear). I only watch TV infrequently as it is, but that damned 'honey boo-boo' commercial makes me wanna toss my cookies I change the channel every time, and what sucks is that the commercial shows up on other stations too. Maybe it touches a sore spot with me because I have some of those whacko's in my family (as evidenced by my 2nd cousin's family pics w/ skimpy clothed girls with bleached hair and guys holding ak47s and moonshine).
I was going to unfriend him because he's so into that hillbilly handfishing gun-toting culture (so opposite from family here in the North East), but I figure they may need his posts and pics for evidence some day.
BTW, that SSI collecting, never-worked-a-day cousin is totally against Obama. Go figure!

(46,736 posts)1) If it pays for Honey Boo-Boo's education and doesn't emotionally scar her for life, then, go for it.
2) All bets are off if they go into the right-wing political culture. Because, those people do embrace the crazy.

(1,675 posts)I have watched Toddlers and Tiaras and all I see are these shrill sad mothers trying to live through their children. THe girls aren't allowed to play, they have their hair dyed, get spray tanned and endure hours of rehearsal. Then the pageant's they absolutely LOVE to do seem to completely exhaust them. And the judges are very harsh. I often wonder if social services ever gets involved with these people.
When my oldest was about 6 months old (she's 17 now) I was walking through a mall and past some kind of pageant modeling thing. Now my little one was one knock out of a baby. So this bubble headed bleach blond stops me as I am walking by and said "What a beautiful Bay-bee (southern accent) you should start her in pageant's now and she can make scholarship money." I just said no and walked away. But there was a line like you wouldn't believe of mothers with little girls and most didn't want to be there!

(95,337 posts)What's really bad is how these moms ply their kids full of sugar. It was like the kids were doing kiddy cocaine kicking back these giant size pixie sticks that are nothing more than like a pint of pure granular sugar. And looking at Honey Boo Boo she already looks like she's on the path of childhood obesity.
It's so funny how they call it 'scholarship money' since what these parents spend to get their kids ready for a pageant could have just been put in a savings account and be plenty for college. To spend $25k-$50k a year entering their kids into pageants where top winnings is maybe $1000, that's just bad business!
