Out of the mouths of babes:

Our 5 year old granddaughter is visiting.
Miz t. is teaching her to play Battle.
(Miz t. is a bit 'heavy'. A little bit beyond zaftig. This will be seen to be important to the story.)

As Miz t. told me:
After a few hands Charlotte wants to deal.
OK.
The cards are large and her hands are small.
It's not so easy.
Not as easy as Miz t. makes it look.

Cards are going everywhere, in the chair, on the floor.
Miz t. offers to deal.
NO!
Cards continue to fly off the table.
So Miz t. explains: "Charlotte, I'm fast at dealing because I've done it thousands of times. When you've done it thousands of time, you'll be fast too."
Charlotte: "I don't want to deal thousands of times."
"Why not?"
"I don't WANT to be FAT TOO!"

Miz t. is still laughing.

Years ago, when the federal agency I worked for had an employee picnic, I introduced my young son to the rather portly head of the agency.

"You look just like Boss Hogg!" my son exclaimed.
