Hadn't heard from him in about six months, and I just got notified that this is the reason why. No word yet on cause of death. He was a good guy, and I always felt energized and fulfilled by one of his visits. Every visit, as he was walking out the clinic door, he would offer the whole team a cheerful goodbye and a seeya next time.
He will be missed. He was a sweetie...

(6,696 posts)Worked Oncology in Hospital about 8 years before doing floating office nurse and pvt duty with an agency. Helped start a hospital based hospice as an admin then doing home visits for another 6-8.
Burned out bad.
Still think of many fondly.

He was not family or anything, but I was surprised by how much it affected me.
