This reminds me of my dad's and Father-in-law's wallets.

Those wallets must have weighed about 5 pounds. Stuffed with all kinds of shit. 20 rubber bands to hold it closed. My dad even rigged up some kind of clamp for his. Looked like he had some kind of huge tumor on his ass when he stuck it in his back pocket.

I don't carry a wallet. I have one of those stretchy stick on wallets that you put on the back of your phone. It holds about 9 plastic cards (credits cards, license, medical insurance card), a folded up copy of my Covid vax card, a medication list, and a few bills folded twice. So I just grab my phone and go...has everything I need.

I don't know how they used to walk around with something like this. Look at this damn thing:

I use it maybe 5 to 6 times a year when I have to carry a bunch of crap.

I think they're pretty practical.

but if I drove any distance, my butt would go numb. I switched to a passport wallet, and that was better, but in the last year or so, I’ve gone minimalist. It’s aluminum, with space for several cards inside, and a trigger to pop them up. The aluminum body fits into a thin leather sleeve with pockets where I carry my license and insurance cards. It fits into a shirt pocket.

and the long nails (hard to get a good angle on the pic, and I keep my nails long currently to dig into chair spindle grooves for this thing I'm refinishing).

And you're right, sometimes having longer fingernails (and yours aren't bad) is good for doing some things. The working on the grooves as you said is one thing, and there were some things that I do (of course I can't recall them right now) that I had wished that I waited before trimming my nails. And you can't really pick up very much if your fingernails are trimmed short too (wrapping coins is one thing I can think of, but there were some other things that was wanting to do and of course I trimmed my nails first...NOOOOO).

Mine is laying on my desk in front of me I just measured it at 1 1/8" thick. Every few years my wife will think that it is getting to ratty and bring me one when she goes to the Coach outlet store.
