If Spring 🧡 in many places warming weather no more snow & ice (w a rare April eary/mid storm) plus 🧡 greening trees, crab apple & cherry tree blossoms - wonderful possibilities reopening; Summer in its best state means expansiveness 🥰 to me!
The wonderful possibilities that haven't happened yet - many will happen now, or over 6/21 - 9/19-20!
When it's not above the low 80°Fs, on dry side; no over clothes except a rain poncho if not umbrella, even sometimes mid 80°F to just 90°F especially earlier on in the season there's a Sense Of Freedom! (I swear the ole freedom from any school still sticks with me even at 69 yes on. 😄 )
So many ourdoor summer concerts! Free ones (well not since effing Covid ) More flowers in gardens & parks.
🌳🌳🌳🏵️🌺🌲🌲🌳🌼
Going down to the World Financial Center/ Brookfield Place Big Plaza, 🥰 and the long Beautiful Esplanade by The Hudson River that ends near Battery Park.
Hanging out with family/friends in backyards! Fourth of July firework. Firework on Fridays on Coney Island beach at the A Team Stadium of The Yankees or The Mets. The beach. Vacations for many people. Even the hustle and bustle of NYC streets when not (over)crowded I get energized; it varies in location.
All this and more!
(while covid has reduced much or ruined of this the past 19 months 😥 )
A Shout Out to 🥰 Summer on it's last weekend 2022!
(gI'm going to a Chineese buffet, and eating in a little park place 👍🧡 then going to a different 🧡 park later )
What does the 🧡 best of Summer mean to you? 👍🙂

(14,967 posts)I learned to ride a bike in a North Jersey town with single & double houses at my cousin's, with slow streets except in the town center. Then I also rode one in another Jersey town at another cousin's house. 👍
Oh, yeah, swimming! Big community pool! My favorite thing was in 3 - 3 1/2 ft water, diving and skimming along the bottom.
Ah, a farm. When my mom & her sister & Bros grew up partly in Hell's Kitchen - they to a farm through the Fresh Air Fund or this other organization. She told me about collecting eggs in the hen house.
I watch Gold Shaw Farm videos on FB.
I hear ya, tho, when I worked it usually standing on a seni to fully crowded, and hot subway platform!
Ty for answering. 👍

(21,672 posts)Long days, crickets, fireflies, noisy lawn mowers, flowers, feeling relaxed and carefree outdoors, picnics, beaches and pools, walks in parks, the feel of breezes on bare arms, gardens, fresh cherries, berries, corn, apples, tomatoes, potato salad, the scent of rain in the air.
Disappointment when the days start getting shorter.

(14,967 posts)Itchy skin...the drier steam heat in colder weather?
I did 10 yrs of steady Tai-Chi, and another 5 years of intermittently doing it. Two different forms a couple if years apart. I chose Tai-Chi so I didn't have to get down on a yoga Matt (though I've been pretty flexible).
At 69 I am free of any chronic aches & pains. I'll get them if I strain something, it'll go away. There will come time at some point, but not yet.

(47,578 posts)Its not the lack of itchiness in the summer so much as its the relief from the need for moisturizing maintenance.
Sweat, the natural moisturizer
lol.
Im 60, and for the last few years Ive walked miles every day. Two or three miles in the warm weather. Three to five in the cooler weather.
Gotta keep my joints lubed and my lungs elastic.
