I'd go to see Letterman. Jon Stewart would be a close second.

Cavett was on Donahue one time, with a couple of other former talk show hosts. Sad to say, but Dick blew them off the stage with his collection of reminiscences, war stories, and just plain hilarious observations. I don't think he intended to dominate, it just worked out that way. At one point, a woman in the audience had the mic and observed that Dick was a funny guy: Had he ever considering doing stand-up or writing comedy? Cavett leapt to his feet in mock indignation ("Madam!" while Donahue put himself between Cavett and the woman, hastily explaining that Cavett had indeed worked as a comic and a comic writer, winning many awards and having a great career.

(17,302 posts)But there are clips that people have highlighted recently to show how he was, at times, a bully and sexually harassed some of his female guests. It really wasn't appropriate behavior. It was the sort of thing he could get away with then, but not today. I'd like to think he'd know better now.
