Visiting DU after a long absence

Years ago, I was an active member of DU. Posted regularly. I was a moderator.

And then I left. Don't ask for details.

I can truly say I met some truly amazing, wonderful people on DU. Online and in person.

I guess I am here now because I wanted to visit. Some things have changed, some are different.

As I get older, I think more of the past. People I knew, experiences I've had.

I guess I was nostalgic.

I remember you posting here way back when I joined in 2004. It was a crazy time--we all hated Bush and the war in Iraq. Everyone was very invested in getting John Kerry elected and were so disappointed when that didn't happen!

After the Saints won the Super Bowl. Just stopped. I came back earlier this year. Had a nice hiatus. Glad I’m back. Hang around if you can. Older? And thinking of the past? That’s me.

Now I'm old(er?) and cranky, and the balance of my outlets has changed somewhat over the decades. But I'm with you. I definitely get nostalgic sometimes. I even reply to a post with something unimportant once every few months. Lol.
