WordleBot: 5! (SLATE PRICK CRANE CRAZE CRAVE)
After 2 guesses, WordleBot had exactly the same information I had, but it went through all 3 possibilities before hitting the right one, so today at least, my strategy worked better than WordleBot's.

Wowzer!I used guess #3 to look for crake (??), crane, craze or crave (if no matches).
Crape (??) and crate were no longer possible for me.

... like having a partial answer that doesn't eliminate enough possibilities, so you either get lucky in guessing or you don't. 
And really, that's just one of the ways you can have bad luck with your starters, whereas good luck with the starters gets you out quickly.
