There are buds on the daffodils and the forsythia, as well. Spring is on the way!

But thats all I can remember. Will google and see if its actually a poem or one of those random bits of whatever that get stuck in your head from childhood.
A couple days ago, someone posted about the definition of churl. My head instantly spit out: Sir Lancelots a churl, beaten by a girl. Couldnt find that on the Googler, have no idea where it came from, lol!
Edit to Add: Ooo! Heres a lovely collection of crocus-themed poems:

(115,875 posts)Groundhog Day is irrelevant here, since we always get 6 more weeks of winter - if we're lucky. And the groundhogs, a/k/a woodchucks, aren't going to rouse themselves from hibernation to state the obvious. We'll see crocuses in a couple of months, maybe.

(3,617 posts)We have had a few freezing temps overnight recently so I was a little concerned (I get daffodil buds that never open if it gets too cold). This year I covered them on the couple of coldest nights, seemed to do the trick!

My Grandmother planted crocuses in a rockery by the front walkway. We all oohed and ahhhed when the early blossoms broke ground. The long dreary period of Winter was coming to an end--finally!
