6. I was crazy enough to get a DVD of Contagion

during the height of the pandemic when people were dying by the thousands everywhere. I had not seen it before covid.

Strangely, it helped me cope by analytically comparing the film to real life for accuracy of what it was like. Making an analytical comparison helped keep my feelings of anxiety at bay.

The DVD came in a 2 for 1 film package. The other film was Outbreak, which I had already seen once, so it gave me another pandemic fear for comparison.

Unfortunately, knowing how we did it in the past created false expectations for me. We're not the country we used to be.
