Who was your favorite animal character on a television program? I liked Arnold Ziffel on Green Acres

Last edited Fri Mar 3, 2023, 02:03 PM - Edit history (1)

I might have the spelling wrong of Arnold the pig's last name. Could it be Mr. Ed, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Petey, etc
EDIT--animal puppets are okay.

Lambchop for bedtime story time. Well, the daughter would confess her secrets to Lambchop! Shari never, ever revealed to her daughter what she learned during those nighttime confessions!!! Smart lady!!

My parents were not big on gifts but I got a Lambchop puppet that I treasured until she disappeared. I was a devoted fan of Sherri Lewis.

Frasier. Eddie carried on like a real dog, although Arnold fit well in the surrealism of Green Acres, still an absurdly funny series.

Mr. Ed, was a horse of course, though I was annoyed by the concept of a talking horse. Trigger was Roy Rogers horse, flashy palomino. Champion was Gene Autry's horse, my favorite for a while partly because my parents gave me a plastic model horse I played with so much I broke one of his legs. Dad put a pin in to repair him, but I had to treat him carefully so it didn't break again.

I wanted to have a pet dolphin in a pool in our back yard!

Of course, as a kid I never considered that that might not be possible in Ohio ….

Runner up …. Lassie. I loved that pretty and smart collie.
