Update: Snow finally stopped, the drip in the ceiling is holding, got the estimate for snow clearing

The "professional" service came and took a look three days ago. He sent the estimate this morning.
$5200 !!!

Now I'm not gonna say it's not a big job. But we *did* talk about how I only needed about 1/4 of the roof cleared where the awning causes the backup. Nope that's a quote for the whole roof, and my house is a one story 1100 sf house.
Needless to say I'm still looking for someone.

No call from the insurance company.
The Sheriff finally declared a State of Emergency, to be approved by the County Board of Supervisors. I still don't know if that will help me with costs, or defer the deductible.

The leak has frozen up again so the dripping is holding for now. No new cracks or drywall crumbling.

My partner has been crunching numbers all weekend and it's not looking good. I'm just focusing on trying to get the stairs cleared so I can go buy toilet paper!

Over 500" for the winter so far...broke the record from 2016 and looking like the one from 1970! This is insane

You might qualify for funds through disaster relief programs. Here's an example from the recent heavy Caifornia rains:

So I am back to square one.

No red Cross assistance, since it's not a STATE order or a Federal order, no FEMA.

Not sure where else there would be assistance for individual homeowners. I've asked our local newspaper who I've been talking to about this to maybe publish some resources for locals in need of help.

Got another call in to the Insurance company, got the supervisor's number and a name of a local contractor they work with ...

I don't know how I am gonna cover ANY of this.

Rain in the forecast too this week....that will SATURATE the snow and make a huge mess...
