Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsThe UPS driver brought our garbage cans back to the house yesterday.
Yesterday was garbage day and we got a package delivery from UPS before we could get out there to retrieve the cans. Our house sits about 75 ft. back from the road. We have one can for trash and one for recycling. The recycling one is pretty big.
The driver stopped at the road, put both cans into his truck, then proceeded down the driveway to our house, where he deposited the cans along with our package right by the garage.
I got outside just in time to thank him, and he waved me, off, saying, Happy to do it. Have a good one!

My sons first job was grocery bagger and he said there were plenty of rude people. Or else they would just ignore him like he wasnt there. But some were really nice and said thank you.

(5,067 posts)I got sidetracked the other day while checking out at the Tractor Supply store getting things to start my veggie garden. While I was man handling big bags of potting soil etc. into the trunk of my car, the guy that had been behind me in line came running up to my car, handed me my debit card and proceeded to lift all the heavy stuff out of my cart and into my trunk. I had forgotten to pull the card out of the machine after the clerk had asked me a question about something.

(31,989 posts)He could have totally made off with your card. That was a nice thing to do.
One time (this was many years ago) I was grocery shopping for my mom. I left my handbag in the grocery cart and put it in the cart corral and drove to my moms house before I realized what I did! I called the store right away and they told me an 8 year old boy had found it and he and his mom brought it into the store. I asked if they had left a name or anything but the store manager said no. Talk about grateful!!

(5,067 posts)Sometimes it just means being able to sleep at night or look myself squarely in the eye in the mirror just know I have helped someone. They don't even have to thank me and I can think of a couple times when someone did not. It does not cost you anything to hold a door for someone, or give them a compliment or pick up and return something they might have dropped. But doing it, comes back to you someday, somehow.

(113,284 posts)side were wonderful. We cooked for each other, shoveled the walks for each other, and so much more. The ones on the other side were the neighbors from hell. They were so vile that the entire neighborhood had restraining orders against them. They finally moved, and we got wonderful people.
