But I am DIGGING this places liberal vibe! Pride flags everywhere you look. Smiling, friendly college kids. Great locally-sourced restaurants and cafes. Heck, the lines defining the crosswalks are rainbows!
Mrs. Aristus is having the time of her life. I think the reformed former conservative Christian Republican and now liberal atheist is still enjoying the relief that comes with not having to hate everything all the time.
Tuesday, back to our pinkish-red town in blue Western Washington. And back to the grind. *sigh*

(65,010 posts)My wife's really good friend (since they were 5) lived in Greeley. After a few days of visiting, we drove to Boulder, to Estes Park, then back to Denver.
We're thinking about renting a mini-RV and driving there for a visit this summer with the dog.
Enjoyed all the craft beers in Boulder. Probably different now. It was quite a while ago that we went.

(113,278 posts)So many great shops, bookstores, etc. One of my favourites is Peppercorn, two stories of toys and heaven for foodies!
I went to UC/Boulder for two years before transferring to Kenyon College. SOOOO many amazing memories I have from there - - I got highly active in campus politics and so many things we initiated got national attention. It was during the Reagan years so student loans were being gutted and all the Pell grants were under threat, etc. It was also an era when the Moral Majority was showing up on campuses all over the country.
Good trip down memory lane!
Boulder is a bastion of the greatest vibes ever.

(11,648 posts)And owned a motel on the outskirts of Boulder. My uncle was an architect at University of Colorado. Spent a lot of time there when I was a kid. Did see Muddy Waters at a club there in the early 1970s. I lived in Nebraska but 18 year olds could buy 3.2% beer in Colorado so we often went to Denver or Boulder. Gas was $0.29/gallon and you could drive 85 mph on I-80. Havent been back in 50 years.
