Our CA house closed escrow today

Now We will have to scare up a US address for some banking details and the like.
Since our main abode is now Munich something has to be done for a couple of accounts.
We may pull in favors from a friend to act as a mailing address since virtually everything we do is now online.

3. It wil be 8 years

this summer since we moved here. What a wild ride.
Made the decision inside of 90 days when my wife go t the job offer.
then I retired. Made a few mistakes but we are pretty settled in now.
I really like going to organ concerts in churches that have significant organs.
(That is the term a priest used when talking about his church. His doesn't have one.)
The weather could be better. No car, walk, bike transit.
It is really different.

4. When we lived abroad for 5 years we used a UPS store mailbox. They would even send us

our mail monthly. Like you we had no significant mail as all was done on line. Worked out great. Colleagues used services where the company opened and scanned their mail for them.

I was born in Munich at the old military hospital on Cincinnatistrasse. I'm jealous!

6. Like many places I've lived

It doesn't appear to exist, at least as a hospital, anymore.
We like living here. We are on the south west corner. We call it the immigrant district.
The new(er) apartments are mostly immigrant people, like us, or in the student housing,
while the older houses are almost all German. The worst part is we are under 300 meters from a great Biergarten....
