I just found a cache of letters sent to me 40+ years ago. From friends I forgot wrote to me.
They are so precious!
I miss how letters were sent on a regular basis, before e-mail.
My head is spinning from the excitement of re-reading all of them.

(2,050 posts)In it were letters and cassette tapes that my little Sister sent me when I lived in Unalaska from 1979 to 1992, as there was only the armed forces radio network to listen to in the middle of nowhere, her tapes were the only exposure to new music I heard all through the 80s except for what crew members on the crab boats I fished on brought up from down south, there were also vhs/Betamax videos from MTVs early years
I started reading her letters and couldnt stop the feelings washing over me, my Sister Nancy was one of my best friends and she passed from brain cancer in 2015, I was the one to follow her well known order to not be kept alive by machines and I carried out her wish
But yes its really special to find a treasure like yours and mine, her letters really took me back to a better time
They wont be put back in a box in a closet again, Im going to share them all with my family next time were all together
