You'll want to plan for who is in your group. Do you have kids? Pets? People on meds? Also, what are you fleeing from & what is your mode of flight? Will you have to go through flooded streets or fire areas? There's so much to consider you really need to research it & prioritize what you need first & most & then build from there.

But I'm bookmarking to read what others say.

A bonus would be a place where you have a support system. Next figure out how you & the pooch are gonna leave & plan from there. Cell phones, pre-paid Visa cards, dog food, food for you, a sleeping bag. If you know where you might land, research human services in that area.

This is fucking insane you have to worry about that, but a friend of mine recently moved across country & LGBTQ issues were definitely a consideration.

we were evacuated for a fire nearby. It was 7:00 am when we were told we had to leave immediately. We were out of there in five minutes. I grabbed dog food and left jewelry behind, which was stupid at first glance, because I could buy dog food just a few miles away. This was partially because of the fog of being awakened so early and suddenly. But it made me feel good about what my priorites were.

A few years later, we were evacuated again, this time with a few hours notice and in the afternoon. Let me tell you, there's a big difference between having five minutes or a few hours to get out. OP is doing the right thing taking advanage of having the time to plan things.

Mostly I would grab all my external harddrives because all of my families home videos, photos and such are on those. Losing those would be devastating.

were the top priorities. It was precarious, because we lived in a wooded area and the only ways out were three two-lane highways. I didn't have time to do any checking about what the condition of those were. In hindsight, they were all still clear and though there was a lot of smoke the fire never got with in 3-5 miles of us. Then after observing the next few evacuations in the ares in the next few years it became apparent that we had a Sheriff who had a big ego and and got a big kick out of ordering evacuations that were maybe not really necessary. At the very least he was way over-cautious. But we, and the house, which we sold seven years ago, are still standing.

You've posted extensively how you despise where you live, how you feel in danger there, etc., and now you're making plans to flee...so why not move preemptively?

Much better to make plans rather than leaving in haste. It will cost less to leave at your own pace, rather than waiting for some "bugout" situation.

Still a huge factor in all of it is money. Reason why a lot don't leave states that are passing these fascist laws. Its not easy to just up and move without a plan and money.

If you feel unsafe, just go while you can. I live in Florida and I plan to stay here and be a pain in the ass for the Republicans.

If you are fleeing a hurricane or a forest fire, the family pet and the American Express card is all you need. If you are fleeing the breakdown of our society, they don't make a truck big enough.
