Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI just got my sixth Covid vaccination (second bivalent booster)
I used the local Kroger for my medications but the Kroger nearest to me only has Pfzier and I have been using Moderna (which has sightly more active ingredient compared to Pfzier). My oldest child was in the Pfzier original and booster trials and has now switched to Moderna due to the higher dose of active materials.
I tried to get my second bivalent booster Thursday night but the CVS pharmacist insisted that there were no new rules for people over 65. The CVS pharmacist had the old rules on his Iphone and insisted that he knew more than I did.
Today, I found a Kroger only 7 miles from my home that had Moderna and got my sixth vaccination and second bivalent booster. The injection site is tender but otherwise no issues.
If anyone has issues, the CDC issued new rules on April 19 for second bivalent boosters

I am glad that I am not the only one with six COVID vaccinations

I also still have my original vaccination card.

(115,833 posts)Sore arm and lingering lethargy, just like the previous five. I suppose I'll need another one in the Fall, but that's OK. Whatever it takes. I've made it this far without getting covid and I don't want to break that streak.

(31,121 posts)Contacted two of them and they said the bulletin said I had to be BOTH over 65 and immunocompromised....which was wrong.
So I went to Rite Aid.

(44,178 posts)One day I just was too tired to get out of bed. But those are pretty usual side effects for me. All good now!

(21,601 posts)primary care office this time. They are a HUGE medical provider in my community so they carry both Moderna and Pfizer shots. They have my previous shots in their records and also have my complete medical records so it was quicker and easier than the previous shots that I got at pharmacies.
I stayed with Moderna, which is what all my previous shots were.
Very mild tenderness in my arm, not nearly as sore as in the past. Also had much milder side effects than before, just a kind of blah feeling. Slept a lot the first day and part of the next. My body must be getting used to these shots.

(16,386 posts)Has anyone had any side-effects from their sixth? My last one was the easiest yet, so I'm hoping this one will be a piece of cake. The first two put me in bed.

(205,927 posts)That was the first place it was available in my area, though I had to go south to the net town for the first two since appointments filled up so fast here. I'm not due for #6 yet, but I'm hoping I can still get it at the nearby CVS. I've never heard of Kroger, we don't have them around here - Northeastern New York.

(1,281 posts)I'm immunocompromised and have had 7 total Covid vax's. The second Bivalent on Monday had me out of commission Tues and Wed with chills, headache and muscle aches. I take it as a good sign that my immune system is responding.
