or "in-the-know" manner where context is totally missing.

And, lest I forget, I'd also include the vocal up-talk trend of making all comments a question. (i.e., like the blonde, blonde, blonde "Christina" from HGTV fame/Jacuzzi bath remodel ads-(whose last name really doesn't matter unless you keep up with which of her short-term husbands is in the picture currently). That is one trend I'd definitely like to see disappear and is almost as bad as the worst "Kim Kardashian-style" vocal fry.

All are manageable in terms of turning the channel or ignoring, but if I had my wish as you offer in the OP, I'd like these trends to GO.

i'd say bigotry/fascism in general, but that's not a fad, i think there will always be 10-30% of the population who love authoritarianism and are determined to hate on one minority group or another.

but some particular hatreds come and go, at least in terms of prominence. right now the right wing has taken a special interest in hating on trans people.

some hatreds, such as against left-handers, can largely go away. thoughtless insensitivities remain, but few people today hate us left-handers the way many did a century or so ago.

all hatred should go away, but as my daughter is trans, i have a special interest in hoping this particular hatred fades.

tolerant/compassionate people. The majority are probably RW hate-filled a'holes, but I think there are some for which (non-judgemental) information and time may help.

I have great empathy for you and your family. I do hope things get better.

Absolutely hate this. Learn to ski for Pete’s sake, I can send 100 skiers down the trail and when they’re done, the trail is still in good enough shape that I could send a hundred more. Send a dozen bikers down that trail and it’s ruined for anyone else.

Unfortunately they’re here to stay, so I end up breaking a lot of my own trails.

They look atrocious. We've all seen those cringe-worthy pictures of hairstyles in the 1980s and you can be sure people will feel just as embarrassed over their giant eyebrow pictures in the future.

People who use them to sweep dirt off their driveway or porch or sidewalk. Noisy, polluting, and an absurd waste of petroleum.

Actually, leafblowers in general. Autumn used to be my favorite season, but no more.

not to "young people." A lot of guys, though, seem to be pretty clueless on figuring out what they're doing, though I've seen some pretty good ink on them, too - mostly nice sleeves.
