Ya know the ordinary, run of the mill earthworms that appear on sidewalks after a rainstorm (and those the birds don't pick off, slowly desiccate in pretty gruesome manner in hours).
Ok, so I can understand why they appear after a rainstorm. But I see them every damned day, in large numbers along my 4.5 mile daily walking route--littering the sidewalks, and we haven't had rain in what seems like forever. So, how do they get there?
Inquiring minds want to know.
