The Medicare Advantage deluge has started - Here's my plan

We're still 3 weeks away from the beginning of the open enrollment period in which the conniving insurance companies will try to get us to switch to valueless "Medicare Advantage"plans. And the deluge of mailings has begun arriving.

This year, I have resolved, as a strictly self indulgent activity of curiosity, to retain each and every item received, and then to report back here as to number of pieces of mail, and total weight of the paper they used to try to convince me to abandon my health care coverage.

Anyone else wish to keep track of their own traffic to see how uniform it is?

I think Joe Namath had more tv time in the MA commercials than when he was a football star.

It’s sad how the elderly are preyed upon by the unscrupulous. I try to understand how difficult it must be to only own two yachts but haven’t got to that point yet. Obfuscation is the friend of those with no heart and no integrity but bray about the greatness of capitalism. My little ole shredder is wore out.

“Abandon my health care coverage.” Spot on and to the point My Friend.

This year, I thought i would see just how much they are spending to try to subvert my Medicare. Then we can multiply that number by all of the old folks.

And double it for what I get. Mine goes in the shredder with gusto. They who perpetrate this fraud against us old folks are pure evil. Thanks for your efforts. It’s a never ending battle against those who do not know right from wrong.

But I know a number of good Democrats who love their MA plan, especially the kickbacks from the insurance company.

But, yeah, the fall marketing campaign is annoying as heck.

If we had had MA as my wife spiraled in, I would be destitute today.

That’s a fact, as is fact that many beneficiaries just can’t afford $300 a month for a supplement to traditional Medicare and a drug plan. Again, traditional Medicare is way to go if you can afford the monthly premiums and can forego the plan kickbacks.

They really have little choice until someone improves traditional Medicare. Don’t see that happening, except on margins.

I get a whole lot of additional benefits from it at no extra cost. What am I doing wrong?

you can't comment on Advantage plans unless you don't have one or have a very bad one. Then you get to tar them all and scare all the 64 year olds.
