Apparently, on of mine has a defect in her self-cleaning subroutine, but manual correction is frowned upon by the feline.

(7,237 posts)I had one who would shriek as if you were cutting her very toes off... when the clippers were still 6" away from her paws.
I gave up on trimming that one's claws completely.

(389 posts)Unfortunately, one of ours has a tendency to have the nails curve and grow back into the pads, so not clipping is not an option. I wish it were.

(18,641 posts)if you catch them relaxed and (I love doing this) stick your finger between the pads of their back feet and kinda tickle them and they spread their toes out really wide. It must feel good. I always laugh at their little pink (or black) toesies.
