If you could do your job via internet (telecommute) would you move?

Me and the Mrs. have been talking about this recently because in her new role as boss of her division she can work anywhere that has internet and phone coverage. I'm on permanent vacation/stay at home dad and she works from the other room while her office is in Virginia (we live in Florida). We have to make trips up there every 6 months or so anyway, but most of the office staff telecommute have the time.

So we were wondering if we should move. The housing market is starting to pick up and two of our friends sold their homes within a month of listing them.

So many options. Would you move if you could?

OK, I can't telecommute, but my job lets me live pretty much where I want to, as long as I can find a way to work. It turned out to be a really good time to sell my house in Texas (location, location, location), and I was able to change my crew base and move to a very rural location in northwest Ohio.

I am very happy I did.

I now have a 2 hour drive to work (Detroit). I only have to do it 1 - 4 times per month. I love it!

Though tbh, that's because I want to move out of the country.

If you can make a clean break and settle your children elsewhere and have no concerns about family/babysitters/stuff like that, by all means do so.
