It's only episode one and I'm so confused. Sam Spade (Clive Owen) winds up in France in 1955, paid to deliver a young girl to her father. After that, the story gets really disjointed.

Nothing even resembling Bogie, who he was, supposedly, modeling his performance.

(3,607 posts)The first episode unfolds with a couple of flashbacks, but it all makes sense, and I think the story is pretty compelling so far. And the photography and production looks really great. I am enjoying it, and looking forward to more.
What part of it do you have issue with?

(4,183 posts)on Weekend Edition. He talked about his approach to the character and how rather than ignoring/avoiding Bogart's performance he actually tried using it in his own.
Also, what's Acorn? Is it a streaming service or some obscure cable channel? Guessing the former.
