Anybody watching Monsieur Spade on Acorn? (Original Post) Beatlelvr Jan 2024 OP
Yep. I like it so far, but he's playing a younger Sam Spade than Bogie did. Once I get past that I'll enjoy it more. marble falls Jan 2024 #1

As soon as I saw the little kid, the smoking nun, I thought nope! Not for me.
Nothing even resembling Bogie, who he was, supposedly, modeling his performance.

really like Clive Owen. It's just a little different take from Bogie but I think it's going to be a good series.

The first episode unfolds with a couple of flashbacks, but it all makes sense, and I think the story is pretty compelling so far. And the photography and production looks really great. I am enjoying it, and looking forward to more.

What part of it do you have issue with?

on Weekend Edition. He talked about his approach to the character and how rather than ignoring/avoiding Bogart's performance he actually tried using it in his own.

Also, what's Acorn? Is it a streaming service or some obscure cable channel? Guessing the former.
