I have to go out to a corner of my horse pasture to get cell reception. My landline keeps my horses from eavesdropping on my calls.

12. Out here in the boondocks landline is useless. Too

much static in line to even have a conversation with anyone. Done away with ours around ten years ago or longer. Don't miss it or the monthly bill.

Every so often I get a call from the past, usually to tell me someone has died.
